Royal Maritime Hotel Appoints New Chief Executive
Meet David Knight
David has worked in hospitality for almost 30 years and brings with him a wealth of experience gained in some of the top hotels in the south, including senior positions in both large groups and small independent operators. These roles include Resort General Manager for MacDonald Hotels, and General Manager for Hand Picked Hotels and FJB Hotels among others.
He has overseen large projects which include new openings for Harbour Hotels and worked as a business consultant to prestigious clubs and other hospitality businesses more recently. He was a full member of the organising committee for the Christchurch Food Festival for two years which attracted over 100k visitors each year and sat as the Chair of the North Hampshire Hoteliers Association during his time with Hand Picked Hotels.
David also has strong links to the military where his father served in the 14th/20th King’s Hussars, and he is looking forward to maintaining and improving our charitable work for veterans and their families.
On his appointment David said “I am delighted to be able to take the helm at Royal Maritime Hotel during the next part of its journey and am looking forward to working with the skilled and dedicated team. I aim to lead the hotel toward higher standards of service and ensure that while we maintain our strong heritage, we move the business forward in revenues, hospitality and continuing our already great charitable works. The team, trustees and our guests have made me feel very welcome and I look forward to repaying their trust by delivering our business and charitable aims together.”
