Horatio's is our restaurant — but it isn't just for hotel guests. Locals, day-trippers, families visiting the Dockyard, business lunches, birthday dinners, quick bites, big Sunday roasts — everyone's welcome. Seven days a week, breakfast through to dinner.
You'll find us on Queen Street in Portsmouth, moments from the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Quays, and the harbour walk. Come as you are — smart, casual, kids in tow — no dress code, no fuss.

Our seasonal à la carte menu covers traditional and bistro-style dishes — everything freshly made on site, from the bread to the desserts. Nothing shipped in ready-made.
We believe good food should be sustainable as well as delicious, so wherever possible we source from local Hampshire suppliers we know and trust.

The Victory Bar — a proper drink, a lot of history.
Wood-panelled, characterful, and open late into the night — the Victory Bar is where an evening at the Royal Maritime slowly winds down. Wines by the glass, cask ale, cocktails, and a serious rum list nodding to Portsmouth's naval past.
Round off dinner at Horatio's with a drop of fine rum. Or drop in on its own — the Victory Bar is open to everyone too.

The Royal Maritime Hotel is the trading name of The Portsmouth Royal Maritime Club — a Charitable Incorporated Organisation established in 1850 to support serving and veteran members of HM Armed Forces, the Merchant Navy and their families.
Every table booked, every Sunday roast, every rum at the Victory Bar helps keep that mission going. It's not the reason to come — but it's a good reason to come back.

Nothing to pay online. Booking simply reserves your table — you pay for your meal in person at the restaurant on the day.

Good to know
- Open to everyone — you don't need to be a hotel guest to dine at Horatio's or drink at the Victory Bar.
- Dietary requirements and allergens catered for — please let us know at the point of booking.
- Our on-site car park has fewer than 20 spaces and fills up quickly, especially at Sunday lunch. If it's full, there's a large multi-storey car park directly opposite the hotel.
- Children of all ages welcome; highchairs available. Ask about our Kids Eat Free promotions during school holidays.
- Royal Maritime Club members receive a discount on food and drink — see membership.
