About the Royal Maritime Hotel x BWH Hotels GB Partnership FAQs
1. Is the hotel being taken over or sold?
No. This is a marketing and booking partnership with BWH Hotels GB, not a sale or takeover. BWH Hotels GB is not buying the hotel. We remain The Royal Maritime Hotel – a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) – with our name, history, and charitable mission unchanged.
2. Will the hotel be rebranded?
No. Our name stays above the door. You will see the BWH Hotels GB logo on our keycard wallets and booking channels, but we are still The Royal Maritime Hotel.
3. Why have you partnered with BWH Hotels GB?
To secure our charitable future and expand our reach. BWH Hotels GB's global network (over 4,700 hotels in 100+ countries) will help us attract more guests, generate more surplus, and support more veterans and serving personnel.
4. Is BWH Hotels GB a charity, too? Best Western is not a charity, but a membership organisation so its ethos of reinvestment aligns with our mission to give back.
5. Can guests still book directly with the hotel?
Absolutely – and we encourage it! Our website, phone, and email remain the best ways to get personal service and our best rates. The partnership simply adds another major channel where people can find and book us.
6. Will booking through BWH Hotels GB cost more?
Rates will be competitive across both channels. Direct bookings will always offer great value.
7. Will veterans and serving personnel still get discounts?
Yes – all existing discounts, member benefits, and rates for serving personnel continue unchanged. (Note: Veterans and serving personnel from North America booking via BWH Hotels GB will not be entitled to local discounts, but our promises to our loyal guests and community stand.)
8. What changes will guests notice?
Very little. You may see the BBWH Hotels GBlogo on keycard wallets and name badges, but everything else remains the same.
